The loved ones of teens missing after a deadly fire at a venue in a Switzerland's winter destination are facing an painful period of uncertainty for official news and requesting information about their loved ones publicly.

The blaze engulfed the a popular bar in Cans-Montana, located in the mountains of the Valais region, in the small hours of the first day of the year. Verified video reveal the ceiling catching alight as beverages with sparklers are raised in celebration.

Officials have stated that it could take an extended period to identify the fatalities of the tragedy, which killed four dozen individuals and hurt another scores more. Authorities said on Friday that the majority of the injured have been identified, with the process still underway to locate the remaining few.
