British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos announced on late Wednesday. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

Joshua had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, representatives stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.

Remembering the Victims

The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and deeply emotional over the loss of his two trusted companions.”

The news of his discharge arrives after the global fight fans had expressed condolences for the champion in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
