Barça to Host Inaugural Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday
Barcelona have announced they will play at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in La Liga over two years after they moved out so building work could begin.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans can be present under the licence granted. Once fully finished, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.
Recent Activities
Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou in early November. The club said approval is being pursued from Uefa to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt next month in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
